What's going on with Aaron Judge?

Outside of Los Angeles Dodgers superstar Shohei Ohtani, New York Yankees slugger Aaron Judge is perhaps the most feared hitter in baseball. He’s just not playing like it in the postseason.

Through the first two games of the World Series against the Dodgers, Judge and his lethal bat have gone MIA. In nine at-bats in the first two games that were played at Dodger Stadium, Judge managed just one hit.

He went 0 for 4 with three strikeouts in Game 1 of the World Series. Judge then turned around and put up a 1 for 5 outing and another three-strikeout performance in Game 2 against the Dodgers. The Yankees lost both games and are now in a 0–2 hole against the Dodgers.

It’s not a Dodgers thing, though. Judge has struggled throughout this postseason. In the 11 games he has played in before Game 3 of the World Series, Judge had not collected one multi-hit game. He has struck out in 19 at-bats in the playoffs this year.

That’s simply unacceptable for a hitter who smashed 58 home runs, drove in 144 runs, and carried a .322 batting average during the 2024 regular season and is most likely to win the American League Most Valuable Player (MVP) award.

So this begs the question: What is going on with Aaron Judge?

Whatever the issue is, Judge had better figure it out quickly or the Yankees will be toast. So will his legacy.
