Harris destroys Trump in debate
If this was a boxing match it would have been called off due to a TKO. The presidential debate between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump was one-sided and decisive.
“She just whooped him. People have wanted to see somebody put this bully in his place. She got up there and she put him in his place,” CNN correspondent Van Jones said.
“She baited him and then she spanked him. She baited him and then she spanked him. And not only did she pass the commander-in-chief test, he failed it. He failed it. Kamala Harris did something great for every parent in America, she put the bully in his place,” he added.

Trump went on baseless rants. Harris delivered poise and policy. Harris rebutted the angry and aggressive antics of the Republican presidential nominee by focusing on the American people.
“We just watched Donald Trump come slowly unraveled. He was angry and incoherent,” North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper said. “Kamala Harris was focused and presidential. He defended dictators. She defended democracy. He ranted while she laid out clear plans for lower costs, more freedom and a new way forward.”
Trump went to hurling insults and name-calling. Trump constantly dodged answering questions presented to him. Instead, he used his time to sound like a bitter, miserable and incoherent old man.
“He’s rambling. He’s off topic (and that’s saying something). He’s grimacing. He’s agitated. He’s defensive. He’s frustrated. He still hasn’t looked at her,” former Republican National Committee Chair Michael Steele tweeted.
Harris threw the right verbal combinations at Trump the way former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson used to throw his body-head hookups at his opponents. Trump whined and complained. Harris looked presidential. MNBC anchor Joy Reid highlighted the difference between the two candidates.
“The look that was on Vice President Harris’ face… the look said pity, she looked like she pitied him and kept looking at him like ‘are you okay?’ She finally said I think you are having a hard time connecting with reality,” Reid said. “Donald Trump got destroyed in this debate because he can’t control his mind and you don’t want a president of the United States that is not in full control of his mind.”

One of the more telling moments of the debate came up when the topic of reproduction rights was given to the candidates. Trump was asked repeatedly if he was elected, would he enact a national abortion ban.
Trump dodged the question and would not give a straight answer. Harris didn’t have an issue clarifying her stance. Trump talked lies and falsehoods all night. Harris made her case for president and spoke to the American people.
“What the American people watched was her going toe to toe with him and owning him,” former U.S. Senator Claire McCaskill said. “From the moment she walked out… I think she demonstrated how good she will be going toe-to-toe with the bad guys in the world because she did a really good job going toe to toe with this guy.”
