But before the Obamas got their opportunity to work the crowd to drum up support for the party’s presidential nominee, Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff, provided the public some insight about his wife and what drives her.

“Kamala is a joyful warrior,” Emhoff said. “It’s doing for her country what she has always done for the people she loves. Her passion will benefit all of us when she’s our President.
Here’s the thing about joyful warriors: they’re still warriors. And Kamala is as tough as it comes.”
Emhoff connected with the audience as he shared stories about how he and Harris met on a blind date and how their loved evolved. It was a beautiful story weaved by Emhoff that he never came across as doing this speech as a political spouse.
Emhoff’s self-depreciation about their relationship and giving America a small peek into who Harris is was well-received.
“America, in this election, you have to decide who to trust with your family’s future.
I trusted Kamala with our family’s future. It was the best decision I ever made,” Emhoff went to say.

Harris being elevated to the top of of the Democratic Party’s ticket has re-energized the base. So much so that whenever or wherever the vice president holds a presidential rally, the people come. Venues are packed. An unlimited amount of donations has flooded in to support her campaign.
The excitement around Harris being potentially the first female president has created a buzz in this national not seen since the political arrival of Mr. Obama, who served as the 44th President of the United States. Harris was thrust into this leading role when President Joe Biden opted out of seeking reelection.
Harris took the lead on Aug. 6 when the Democratic Party held a virtual roll call for the nominee and hasn’t looked back. In fact, Harris has embraced the challenge,” Emhoff said.
“I love you and I’m so proud of how you’re stepping up for all of us,” Emhoff remarked. “That’s who she is. Whenever she’s needed, however she’s needed, Kamala rises to the occasion.”

A couple of weeks ago, the Democratic Party badly needed an infusion of vitality. In polls across the country, Biden was fast losing ground to Republican Party nominee Donald Trump. The debate between Biden and Trump left №46 in a deeper hole as questions about his age and his ability to lead came into heavy scrutiny.
Public and political pressure forced Biden to bow out of seeking a possible second term as president. Harris has stepped up and met the challenge of having to run a presidential campaign in limited time. Meeting challenges is something Emhoff knows a thing or two about his wife.
“She did it for me and our family,” Emhoff said. “Now that the country needs her, she’s showing you what we already know: she’s ready to lead, she brings both joy and toughness to this task, and she will be a great president who we will all be proud of.”
